RALPH FLECK: MKM KüPPERSMüHLE MUSEUM OF MODERN ART, DUISBURG GERMANY. 26 FEBRUARY -- 26 APRIL 2015

The Museum Küppersmühle presents a retrospective of Raph Fleck's work, "which showcases his painterly exploration and transformation of real structures and architectures, such as Alpine scenery, seascapes, landscapes, cityscapes, meadows and still-lifes.
In Fleck's work, the boundaries between nature (ie. the natural forms and structures) and architecture (ie. the constructed “artificial” forms and structures) appear to dissipate or merge into a unified entity; his painterly gestures range from expressive brush strokes to the controlled and judicious application of colour planes."

Ever since the invention of photography portraits have become commonplace. In the 1990s photographers rediscovered the portraiture genre. What do the face, pose, clothing and backdrop tell us about the person portrayed? FACES NOW exhibits the works of 31 renowned European photographers, including the likes of Anton Corbijn, Jorma Puranen, Thomas Ruff and Juergen Teller.
