AWOISKA VAN DER MOLEN: THE GUARDIAN
'BEST PHOTOGRAPHY BOOK OF 2014'
AND
'TOP PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITIONS OF 2014'

Sean O'Hagan writes,
"For me, the most beautiful photography book of the year was made by Awoiska van der Molen, whose Sequester (Fw Books) contains black and white images taken at night in the heart of the landscape.
Her landscapes are utterly silent and mysterious, while her use of long exposures makes everything – trees, mountains, leaves, sand – seem both alien and familiar."

DIANA MATAR: 'EVIDENCE' REVIEWED IN THE GUARDIAN

Sean O'Hagan writes of Diana Matar's newly published book 'Evidence',
"All the images are a testament to a personal quest that brings no answers, and no peace .... In Evidence, Diana Matar has created an impressionistic visual landscape of absence and longing, rather than a book of reportage or photojournalism.'

The 'Evidence' book launch is on Thursday 27 November 2014, 7 - 8.30 pm at Purdy Hicks Gallery. Diana Matar will signing copies of the book, and a short talk by philosopher Devorah Baum will be at 7.30pm.

LEILA JEFFREYS: EXHIBITION FEATURED IN FINANCIAL TIMES MAGAZINE NOVEMBER 15

"When Leila Jeffreys set out to photograph as many of Australia's wild cockatoo species as possible, her avian subjects knew exactly how to handle the camera. Bob, the long-billed corella, presented his best side, while Commander Skyring, a gang-gang cockatoo, quietly awaited orders. The result? A new exhibition that celebrates some very colourful characters."

Leila Jeffreys exhibition runs from 21 November 2014 - 10 January 2015.
