OLA KOLEHMAINEN: REASON & INTUITION, PITZHANGER MANOR HOUSE & GALLERY, WALPOLE PARK, EALING, LONDON. 4 JULY - 24 AUGUST 2014

Reason & Intuition: Alvar Aalto & Ola Kolehmainen in Soane brings together the work of Alvar Aalto and Ola Kolehmainen. The exhibition is split between Pitzhanger Manor and the Gallery - Alvar Aalto’s creations fill Soane’s dream home acting as a counterpoint to the historic rooms, whilst in the Gallery Ola Kolehmainen explores space and the built environment in three distinct collections of photography: his acclaimed, abstract, Aalto-influenced architectural images (featuring elements of Aalto buildings), as well as a new body of work exploring Siena Cathedral in Italy (a building highly regarded by Aalto) and his most recent images of mosques within Istanbul.

SANDRA KANTANEN: CONVERGENCES; SELECTED PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE PERMANENT COLLECTION, GETTY CENTER, LOS ANGELES. 8 JULY - 19 OCTOBER 2014

Finnish artist Sandra Kantanen included in 'Convergences; Selected Photographs from the Permanent Collection' held at the Getty Centre, LA from 8 July - 19 October 2014.

"Juxtaposing contemporary and historical photographs from the permanent collection, the exhibition proposes points of intersection between works created in response to shifting technical developments and aesthetic concerns. Whether related by direct influence or visual affinities of a more tenuous nature, groupings of images reveal the rich diversity of photographic approaches to subjects that have engaged photographers for the past century."

Sandra Kantanen will exhibit alongside works by Vera Lutter, Loretta Lux, Scott McFarland, Yasumasa Morimura, Cindy Sherman, and James Welling, among others.
