BETTINA VON ZWEHL: RUBY'S ROOM: PHOTOGRAPHIC MINIATURES BY BETTINA VON ZWEHL. 21 FEBRUARY - 26 MAY 2014, THE BARBER INSTITUTE OF FINE ARTS, BIRMINGHAM

Ruby’s Room - previously seen at the Holborne Museum, Bath - is von Zwehl's response to the early 19th century fashion for miniature paintings of a single eye of a family member. This exhibition is an exploration of her own family connections; the subjects are herself and her young daughter, Ruby, and also features eye portraits of both her husband and daughter each mounted into jewellery by designer Laura Lee.

TOM HUNTER: ‘LIFE ON THE ROAD’, EXHIBITION AT THE LCC LONDON. 6 - 26 FEBRUARY 2014

This exhibition, showing work by photographers Tom Hunter and Dave Fawcett, and filmmaker Andrew Gaston captures a remarkable moment in time, in the 1990s, when young people travelled around Europe in a variety of vehicles adapted as homes, forming transitory communities based around festivals, music and a shared rejection of the increasingly consumerist values of Western society.

Tom Hunter prints from the exhibition are printed in his new publication Le Crowbar, published by Here Press.

Exhibitions sponsored by The Wilson Centre for Photography.
