SUSAN DERGES: SHADOWS ON THE WALL - CAMERALESS PHOTOGRAPHY FROM 1851 TO TODAY, MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS, HOUSTON

Drawn from the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, 'Shadows on the Wall' presents 50 evocative images created with light and chemistry but without the use of a camera.
The images reflect a range of techniques as visually diverse as the movements of art to which they belong—recording the precise outlines of botanical specimens, the alchemy of the darkroom, or the abstraction of form. Although sometimes simply made, the photographs explore the complex relationship between reality and representation.

The exhibition runs from 31 August - 30 November 2014

LEILA JEFFREYS: EXHIBITION FEATURED IN FINANCIAL TIMES MAGAZINE NOVEMBER 15

"When Leila Jeffreys set out to photograph as many of Australia's wild cockatoo species as possible, her avian subjects knew exactly how to handle the camera. Bob, the long-billed corella, presented his best side, while Commander Skyring, a gang-gang cockatoo, quietly awaited orders. The result? A new exhibition that celebrates some very colourful characters."

Leila Jeffreys exhibition runs from 21 November 2014 - 10 January 2015.

AWOISKA VAN DER MOLEN: REVIEW OF 'SEQUESTER' BY CONSCIENTIOUS PHOTO MAGAZINE

"Thankfully, Van der Molen’s landscapes have now been turned into a book, Sequester ... However, it’s one thing to make a nicely printed book and quite another to be able to translate the experience of standing in front of the prints into book form ... If the prints, when viewed on a wall, draw the viewer in, the book does the very same thing ... evoke emotions and feelings.

Easily one of the best photobooks in a long time."
