Leila Jeffrey has been awarded the Australian Antarctic Arts Fellowship, a rare government program that’s been sending artists south for over 40 years, inviting artists to create work in a way that science cannot. The fellowship is run by the Australian Antarctic Division (AAD), which manages Australia’s Antarctic Program. One of Leila's travel companions will be Dr Louise Emmerson, a seabird ecologist who has spent decades studying Adélie penguins and other seabirds to understand how they’re adapting to a changing world.
