Kathrin Linkersdorff’s exhibition Anthesis is now on view at OAG Kulturzentrum in Tokyo, a centre for German-Japanese cultural exchange. The exhibition brings together works from her ongoing Fairies, Floriszenzen and Microverseseries, alongside the first presentation of her new body of work, Anthesis.
Continuing her exploration of the relationship between art, science and nature, Linkersdorff’s new series uses inverted colour values to transform decolourised botanical structures into delicate forms suspended against seemingly infinite, cosmic backgrounds. The vivid pigments produced by bacteria appear like distant stars and galaxies, revealing the intricate processes of growth, decay and renewal that lie at the heart of her practice.
